Terms of use

These terms govern the VegPlan app, vegplan.app and related services provided by Wotaso GmbH. For an app downloaded from Apple, the Apple Standard EULA also applies. Mandatory consumer rights always prevail.

1. Provider and agreement

The provider is Wotaso GmbH, Bostonring 5, 71686 Remseck am Neckar, Germany. An agreement for free features is formed when you install and use the app. A paid subscription is formed through your App Store account on the terms displayed before purchase.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16. If you are under the age of legal majority, you may use paid or consent-based functions only with the permission of your legal representative. You are responsible for protecting your device and App Store account from unauthorised access.

3. Service

VegPlan supports plant-based meal plans, recipes, portion suggestions, shopping lists, pantry management and voluntary feedback. Functions may depend on region, app version, device permissions and your plan. We may improve the service provided that its agreed core benefit is not unreasonably impaired.

4. Not medical advice

VegPlan is a planning and lifestyle service, not a medical device or medical or dietetic advice. Seek qualified advice for allergies, illness, eating disorders, pregnancy, medication or special dietary requirements. Nutrition, price, portion and availability information is estimated. Packaging, trace-allergen warnings, manufacturer information and individual medical instructions always take precedence.

5. Automated and AI-generated content

Plans, replies, recipe text, transcripts and images may be created in part by automation or generative AI. Relevant recipe images are labelled as AI-generated in the app; an illustration or cartoon style does not automatically remove that disclosure. AI content may be incomplete or wrong. Check ingredients, allergens, quantities, cooking times and safety information before relying on it.

The plan assistant acts only within the functions offered. Where confirmation is shown, a change becomes effective only after your confirmation. Permanent preferences must be changed in their dedicated settings.

6. Subscriptions

Price, billing period, trial and scope are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew under the terms displayed by the App Store unless cancelled in time through your store account. Cancellation, withdrawal and refunds are generally handled by Apple under applicable law and the store terms. Deleting VegPlan or your VegPlan profile does not cancel a subscription.

7. Your content and community submissions

You retain your rights in private recipes, photos and text. For as long as they are stored, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, copy and display them only as needed for the function you selected.

If you actively submit content to the community, you additionally grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to technically adapt, host and display it within VegPlan. You may end future publication by deleting or withdrawing it, subject to necessary transition and backup periods. You must own the required rights and may not depict people without permission.

8. Acceptable use and moderation

You may not submit unlawful, abusive, dangerous or misleading content; infringe intellectual property, privacy or personality rights; bypass access controls; disrupt infrastructure; manipulate safety filters or use VegPlan for medical diagnosis or emergencies. We may review, block or remove unlawful or rule-breaking community content and proportionately restrict access in serious or repeated cases.

9. Intellectual property

The app, design, marks, software and content we provide are protected. During the agreement you receive a personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence for intended use. Rights granted by mandatory law remain unaffected.

10. Availability and changes

We aim for reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability unless expressly agreed. Maintenance, security measures and outages of app stores, networks or providers may temporarily limit functions. We will give appropriate advance notice of materially adverse changes to a current paid service; statutory termination rights remain unaffected.

11. Warranty and liability

Statutory warranty rights apply. We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, product liability and an assumed guarantee. For slight negligence affecting an essential contractual duty, liability is limited to typical foreseeable damage. Liability for other slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory consumer rights are not restricted.

12. Ending use and deleting data

You may stop using free functions at any time. Cancel subscriptions in your App Store account. You can delete your pseudonymous VegPlan profile and related data in Settings. Records may remain only as required for purchases, legal duties, security incidents or legal claims.

13. Law and disputes

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer habitually resident elsewhere, mandatory protections of that jurisdiction remain unaffected. No exclusive jurisdiction is imposed on consumers. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in consumer arbitration proceedings.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these terms for objective reasons such as new functions, security requirements or legal changes. Material changes will be communicated appropriately and do not apply retroactively. Questions: [email protected].
